Clayton NUE™. Leading the way in Biosolutions individually tailored for crops.
Posted on 19 March 2024
Clayton has recently launched a new Biosolutions product range containing Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) for most key arable crops, including wheat, maize, leeks, onions, carrots, beets, oilseed rape and potatoes.
What is Clayton NUE?
Various types of plant growth-promoting Rhizobacteria are used to formulate NUE products, including Rhizobium, Pseudomonas, Bacillus and Azotobacter. A range of liquid formulations of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) each tuned and tested for optimum performance in specific crops. These bacteria are produced in sterile laboratory conditions under stringent QA control, each bacteria species in consortia is individually packed to ensure product quality. The bacterial strains in Clayton NUE™ have been specifically selected, formulated, and trialled to give maximum benefit to each specific crop.
Key Benefits:
- Enhanced nutrition for better Nutrient Use Efficiency, N fixation, P solubilisation and increased iron uptake.
- Crop Development is boosted by using PGPRs to trigger phytohormone production, stimulating top growth & root development in the crop.
- Plant Protection is improved with competitive exclusion of pathogens and greater induced systemic resistance.
The broader benefits of NUE Biosolutions
- Improved crop yield and quality
- Improved root and shoot development through the production of plant phytohormones
- Reduced reliance on synthetic nitrogen fertiliser inputs
- Increased availability and uptake of nitrogen, phosphorus and other vital nutrients
- Builds healthier, biologically active soils
- Improved plant vigour for better disease resistance
How does Clayton NUE improve nutrient use efficiency?
Incorporating Clayton NUE into spring crop management and annual rotation planning ensures a sustained improvement in soil health, nutrient availability and crop performance over successive planting cycles, leading to more sustainable and productive agricultural practices. This in turn, will lead to healthier soils, plants and maximised yields.
