Targeting weed control in cereals this spring with reliable, proven products – Clayton Rockstar™ & Clayton Aintree™
Posted on 16 February 2026
With many forward, advanced winter sown cereals, managing early weed control issues early this spring, to protect crop potential may be vital.
Clayton Rockstar™ and Clayton Aintree™ are new launches in 2026 which offer great options for spring weed control in cereals, based on powerful, dual-active co-formulations.
Timing:
- Winter cereals: apply at 265 g/ha before third node detectable.
- Spring cereals: apply at 200 g/ha from first tiller detectable (GS 21) but not before March 1st to before third node detectable.
- Maximum no. of applications (1 per crop).
Weed targets:
- Rates below 265g/ha should not be used for grass weed control.
- Lower rates of 170g/ha can be used for control of Charlock, Common Chickweed, Field Pansy, Geranium, Mayweed and Volunteer OSR
Proven performance:
Independent winter wheat efficacy trials conducted in 2025 by Prime Ag in Cambridgeshire, showed that Clayton Rockstar™ delivers high levels of consistent and reliable wild oat control under spring-applied timings across multiple adjuvant mix partners, confirming strong field performance, providing growers with a dependable and cost-effective solution for cereal weed control without compromising performance.
