Agronomy Update: Managing Autumn Diseases in Oilseed Rape
Posted on 22 October 2025
Oilseed rape crops are looking strong across the UK this autumn, but with conditions currently favourable for Phoma and Light Leaf Spot, now is the time to review your disease management strategy.
Reminder for Key Disease Thresholds
Phoma: Treat when 10–20% of plants are infected.
Use lower threshold on more susceptible varieties and/or where plants are small.
Light Leaf Spot: Treat as soon as infection is seen and confirmed.
To confirm disease presence, incubate leaves.
